Dear Friends,

As the days lengthen and grow warmer, summer vacations come to mind. For many of us the rhythms and responsibilities of our work and family lives remain constant, although schools recess and summer camps open. Even so, there may be opportunity to do something different from those ordinary routines. To our surprise, that “something different” might become a blessing in each of our lives.

New College Berkeley’s Summer Institute contains a variety of meaningful possibilities:

        • A chance to spend a morning experiencing your body as a temple of the
Holy Spirit, able to move, bend, heal, thrive, respond to, and extend God’s grace

        • A morning devoted to considering how we are affected in our faith and
can become more effective in our witness because of our special urban or
          suburban setting

        • A seminar illuminating the impact of Francis Schaeffer on the evangelical
          presence in contemporary American life

        • An opportunity to learn about the Dead Sea Scrolls alongside an Old
          Testament scholar

        • An evening devoted to thinking about sacred symbolism in music and
listening to special examples that particularly portray it

We hope you'll choose to vacate some of your usual routines this summer in order to experience what God has prepared for you through these NCB offerings.

Sincerely, in Christ,
